Data Electronics provides connectivity to our customers across a number of media and carriers. The proposition that the Kilcarbery Park and Northwest Park data centres are widely regarded as national telecommunications hubs is validated by the presence of several critical pieces of telecom infrastructure including:
- Centre is carrier neutral
- With the launch of Northwest Park there will be approximately 40 carriers per floor
- http://www.inex.ie/INEX, the Irish Neutral Internet Exchange, where all the ISPs in Ireland exchange traffic and through which every e-mail in Ireland passes through.
- The Global Crossing second point of interconnect for Ireland which the Irish Government purchased bandwidth capacity.
- Our data centres are diversely connected to the major fibre ring in Dublin (T50).
- We have facilities to allow carriers to install multiple microwave and satellite connections for specific purposes
- Data Electronics offers a Managed Internet Access service, which provides 100% availability through a Data Electronics managed Multi-Carrier Network
- Data Electronics has 2 Meet-Me-Room facilities in operation within Kilcarbery Park, which has redundancy and diversity built into its design. The patch panels are redundant and diversely located in the rooms in such a manner that the redundant panels and paths will continue to function in the event of fire or other disaster.
- All carriers entering the building take a dedicated (closed) cabinet position within the Meet-Me-Room, which houses their transmission equipment.
