Data Electronics, one of Ireland’s leading providers of IT outsourcing and managed services, has received a Highly Commended Award at the 2008 Data Centres Europe Awards, held in London on Thursday 10th April.
Data Electronics was the only Irish-owned company of the four nominees shortlisted for The Best Data Centre Operator Award and was highly commended in this category.
The Awards, now in their fourth year, aim to recognise leadership, innovation and value creation in the data centre and managed services sector. 23 companies from throughout Europe were nominated across 7 categories.
Nominees included operators, carriers, managed service specialists, power and cooling specialists and supplier companies engaged in the sector
Maurice Mortell, Chief Executive of Data Electronics commented “We are delighted with the commendation as it is testament to the hard work and dedication of the Data Electronics team. The Data Centre sector is becoming increasingly competitive, and with IT outsourcing predicted to grow upwards of 30% in 2008, this trend is likely to continue. To have been short-listed and highly commended at a European level reinforces our position as one of the leaders in our field and it is an achievement of which we are extremely proud.”
Nicola Hayes, Vice-President of BroadGroup and member of the judging panel, commented that “Data Electronics’ entry was of such a high standard it deserved to be singled out for a judge’s commendation.”
